That's along time to keep them caged, how many do you take?

View attachment 1145099 Help?! Baby was due to hatch Thursday. No signs of life detected on outside. Pip made by myself, beak cleared. Movement and breathing seen. Membrane touched with cotton covered in sterile water, away from beak. Humidity at 60% circulated air temp at 99.
I'm concerned that the beak is not fully emerged, but don't want to cause damage. Anything I can do?

I was always given 7 up too.I think that's why I can't stand the stuff now. I didn't like if am that much then but now, I won't drink it unless it's the only option and I'm dying of thirst lol

That would be a waste, use cheap vodka to clean with.

We had 6 - 750ml bottles of pop that had to last a month or so. I didn't get much pop as a kid. I mostly drank chocolate milk if we ever ate at a restaurant when away. But we were never away..lol. I made up for drinking chocolate milk when I got married though. We milked a cow.

The pits in the cherries are also very toxic.

Someone just recently had a necropsy done..the chicken was full of cherry pits.

Unfortunately.

If someone was to raise a hand or a violent word towards me, I would be gone. There would be no second time. If I was in a difficult situation...I'd formulate a plan and disappear without a word. I have consciously chosen to have only good people surround me and be in my life.

Your life is what you make of it. You should be your #1 priority.

She was a special cow.

Someone just recently had a necropsy done..the chicken was full of cherry pits.

Sometimes I just have to question a chicken's idea of food.

@mlm Mike The number I take depends on the class and the goal, I will be taking around 12-15 Cream legbars, as we are trying to get enough for a qualifying show to gain acceptance as a breed.

I will be taking 8-10 Partridge Chanticler, around 10 Dominiques....5-6 Speckled Sussex and 3 white legbars... I would like to take a toad but that could upset the show people...


Knucklehead and Knothead have been in cages since the first of July. Cuddles has been in since mid-July. The longer they are in the cages the better they act in them, Also in a cage gives me a chance to handle them daily and look for imperfections.

Nope, my little ol van with my trailer behind it. I let the well behaved ones sit in the van, Cuddles likes to navigate.


However, the number I am taking might give you a inkling as to why it is hard for me to reach my goal of having less than 50 birds.

Baby is still rockin and rollin the her egg. There are still clear blood vessels all around. So keeping her membrane moist and playing YouTube videos of chicks next to the incubator.
