Both are correct, to my knowledge.

Mine sounds like an old door in a scary movie when you open or close it. LOUD too.







Not to be a 'hater' but I really hate those flat top stoves. Electric stoves in general are nightmare. For me, a gas stove is the only way to cook proper.

The slower I move it, the louder & longer the noise is. DH wants to lube it, but I don't trust his 'skills' & am afraid our dishes will taste like WD-40.
