EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I grew up in Laramie WY. My aunt was Jubaliee day queen and my uncle paid his way through college by “renting” out Rick, his amazing horse. He and my aunt taught me riding. I miss the West!! The East Coast has riding but it’s not quite the same as riding in the Rockies!
Not even close for sure.

View attachment 1152131 My little assisted (just a bit) baby. Doing wonderful.
View attachment 1152129 The baby d’uccle and the 3 seramas that are out of the bator! :love 2 silver milles, a Mille fleur, 3 lavender splits. And the seramas that will tell soon, 3 have a light silver color, one has a reddish with black and is already standing like a serama lol. And the newest has a darker color with some light.
:clap

Good morning all. 5 of the seramas are out. 3 are in the brooder now, and the curl foot is doing doing okay and a malpositioned just came out. :fl
I know a lot don't believe in it, but I am one to help when it comes to small babies like silkies. I haven't hatched too many seramas infact I think only one batch. Can't even remember how that turned out. They sure cute little things though. But I find if I help with my silkies, I get more than not if I don't help...know this is a big No-No for a lot of folks but I sure do a lot better hatch with help than not. I was thinking of using the... hiding under the chair guy....but, I don't mind sharing that. Sikies are hard to hatch. A lot of folks help..expecially when you are buying the eggs! They have the higher vaults, and sooo many times, they can't make that turn.

I don't want to even imagine that time of life. If you lived near here I would offer you a chance to ride my smooth peruvians. I have a girl that anybody could ride that has any skill.
You are so blessed to be able to still ride. I also miss it, so so much. I just get to have my great memories of riding back in the day. I've always loved horses and riding.

A woman just passed by the house, and was walking a huge white German Shepherd. It barely woofed at Sturgis (who was playfully barking and dancing around). She WHACKED the dog with a stick, and yelled at it! I heard the whack! Or maybe it was its spine cracking.
If she wants control, she can get a nose halter!

I so agree!! Man, I would have been out there with something to say! I used to foster. And I worked with rescue. Poor dog. :(

I was loud and repetitive about the abuse. "Sturgis! You got that poor dog beaten!" "Sturgis, you're lucky I don't abuse you like that!" "Stop barking! You're going to get that dog in trouble again!"
