So I just candled my eggs with my kids. Today's day 10 and they were super excited to get to see embryonic movement and the heart beating through the arteries. Really excited to see that they are alive. Very reassuring after all our issues with humidity and temperature. Also glad to see the air sacs developing considering the really high humidity we struggled to bring down.
Question though....we started with 34 shipped eggs. One had a minor crack upon candling- tossed it. I've had to remove 14 from the incubator. One I knew had a free floating air sac and it had a red ring of death- removed day 6. Today I removed another red ring of death and upon opening could see that the embryo had started to grow but not as big as what we saw in the other eggs. But we had a full dozen that upon eggtopsy turned out to be infertile. Is it normal for over 1/3rd of the eggs to be infertile? What is a decent fertility rate?
