The brat just ran into the woods when I asked him to stop running. No, dumb birdie, that wasn't what I meant... sigh.

Thanks. He's got some red leakage in breast feathers and red shafting in a few saddle/hackles so I'm hoping that maybe with all those traits combined he might throw nicer daughters.

I am keeping an extremely red one with the shafting and spots on the breasts to try the same thing... I have no idea why I can put penciling on EE and Mutts but not on Chanticler Pullets!!

It is a tad frustrating. Almost as bad as taking white out of SS pullets. I might try to get a new rooster from one of the Judges in Hutch.

Ok, I actually just did it really quickly and the membrane was definitely not broken, nicked it carefully and checked, chick still alive, egg is back in incubator and fingers crossed. In the time I was here typing out messages another two hatched!


Oh NO I didn't even realise hahahaha! Now I feel terrible.

I went to Gen 4; didn't notice any reliability improvement at all, just costs more, though it does have good features the older version didn't.

Gen 5 gives me three times more Gigs a month, and the two year plan is 30. bucks cheaper and I lease equipment just like gen 4 !!!! when I clicked to check available options it said I had max already and then I saw gen 5 looking for business plans!! so in the end I am on the NEW SATELITE in space new direction I get better sight of through trees, save 30 bucks month and get more that twice as much gigs a month and much much faster speeds HOWEVER my laptop even new one doesnt have Gen5 capabilites, but my cell and ipad do, go figure ugghhhh oh well its never a win situation with internet and us!

A friend incubated a few duck eggs but only one hatched, let's just say it's been the CUTEST Facebook posts watching this duck grow up.

For those in need of hatching advice,,,

Here is the Number 1 Ralphie rule:



Put eggs into lockdown/hatcher that has humidity around 65%..

Shut the door. PUT A TIME LOCK ON SAID DOOR.

take a 4 day vacation, come back and pick out the surviving chicks on day 4 in Hatcher....

NEVER OPEN HATCHER DOOR!!!






These are very easy to follow rules.. Even for a person from the VWN.
