EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I really like that .243 of mine. My .30/.30 doesn't kick too bad, but the .243 doesn't kick at all by comparison, and I don't believe it's as loud. With a 100 gr. bullet, it's a great varmint rifle, but will still stop a deer in it's tracks with a well placed shot. I'm not a trophy hunter, so if I can I'll aim for the head shot. They either drop on the spot, or run off w/o a scratch, but none of this tracking a sporadic blood trail required.
That sounds like a good plan. I got my last one right through the heart, and while that stopped him in one bound, it ruined a good piece of meat.

I shot my buddy's .270 once. JUST once! That was plenty for me. Wasn't the recoil so much as the noise. GEEESH!
You know you can sight in a rifle, any rifle, with just 2 shots.
BTW, if anyone needs any ammo, Sportsmans Guide has a pretty good price on it right now. Just ordered 2 boxes of Remington .243

Still beats the choice which was a noisy hard kicking 30 06

I shot my brother's 30-06 once. Wow that thing kicked! I'll stick with the .223 and 9mm lol. I haven't gotten up the nerve to try the shotgun yet.

Good morning everyone! Currently the barn cats are somewhere under my house. We saw one grey blur running away last night, and it left behind a nice large dead rat in one of the cat carriers. I'm calling them basement dwellers for now. They arrived with no names, so until I actually SEE the cats, I can't name them individually. We JUST bought a camera system for the coops, we're going to set it up in the basement to see if we can catch the cats working down there.

I hatched Tolbunt Polish a few months ago - got 4 girls and 4 boys. Each one is SO INCREDIBLY different in coloring from each other. Is there a standard color scheme they should have? They are gorgeous!!

I had never heard about Tahini until I tried making Hummus. It sounded so good! I love it in the Hummus, but I tried to eat it directly and it wasn't as tasty as I thought it would be.

You need to add to it cold water and stir it, salt, some crushed garlic chopped parsley and in the end lemon and some cumin (not obligatory. ) and stir it again and some olive oil on top. it is wonderful as dip, or over lamb kebabs, or as a finely chopped vegetables salads dresding or over a grilled eggplant with pine seeds...
