Neighbours BB were kept longer than that. They were HUGE. Probably why they ate so much.

Moved all the boys back to the old shed. They settled in pretty nicely, and even the bully rooster wasn't chasing the AM around much.

Goodness no! You can get a midget white if you want small. Still a good turkey. But 5 BR turkeys didn’t eat that much. A turkey needs a pound of feed per day.

Midget whites no longer exist....those that say they have them are lying shysters .

Once the turkeys are 8 weeks old and grass is growing and bugs are roaming they take very little feed..


Heritage turkeys that is.....bb are like Cx they never stop eating...

Love the avatar so peaceful. Belies the fact that several fingers were probably smashed with a hammer and all the backaches it took to make this scene.

We raised 6 BB white turkeys. 6 because I was told turkeys are dumb and that only half would survive. We also raised much longer than 5 months. Huge doesn’t begin to describe the size they finished at. I also had Narragansett turkeys later.
