HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

If I have a bug myself, I don't get lubby dubby with my herd.

:wee That has to be a ton of weight off your shoulders.. :)

Exciting! Awesome blossom.. Have a safe trip.. "the adventure begins!"

I took that bite... & with honesty...View attachment 1209637

Goats are use to season climate change.. I would lean towards a biological cause. It is a Myth and a gross misconception that Goats are the easiest livestock to raise. Health, hoofs, wet weather.. I learned the hard way that the old cartoons of a goat eating a tin can is BS. After the last one with zero back legs and a 22LR mercy kill, and past experiences, they are unpredictable. Sorry about your thing.. :hugs They make the garden beautiful in the spring..:(:):(

publicity...
how are you enjoying Hanukkah Benny? I hope all is well. You sound rested and content!;)

Just the glass walls are covered w/alge. the water is filtered with a quality carbon system. It is just exposed to Florida sun... I wouldn't drink out of it but it is fish safe.. just not pretty. As soon as all the piggy offspring pads our pockets, scrubby dubby... I will photo it as always... my trademark.View attachment 1209646

It is sleeping in a sealed zippy bag filled w/raw rice. Why can't things be uneventful for em-wah? sometimes I think you guys only like me because hearing my tragaties makes you all feel better and "at least I'm not em dash connie" ... View attachment 1209652

Seasonal yes, but from morning to night? Fifty degree swing in hours to below freezing and wet? It doesn't take fifty degrees down to chill you if you are hiking and a storm blows in. I know.
Also I sat with a blow dryer drying a doe last year that was shaking that was one of my week does in my heard when we had a sudden an Abrupt temperature drop and wet weather. I mentioned this on my you might be a red neck thread. Things I never imagined doing ;)

Do they have a dry shelter? A run too or wind breaker?
I hate our temp drops. Our cold fronts always come after the rain. We can't just get cold.. it has to be wet cold.. wind chill sux on wet animals. My giant pigs dig out a crater and I chuck it old hay for them. The goats all bunker down close together behind my barn out of the wind. I'll give them fresh bedding to lay upon. Keep them off the wet ground. They won't go into the stalls we built and have not doors to lock them in anyway. As long as they are dry, our lowest temp I can remember was 22*.. This year we had a 26*. But they were dry so I didn't panic. The piglets burrow under the hay. My cat went into hibernation. He'll wake up after ground hog's day I suppose. The dogs look at me like a aspca commercial.
I hope the best for your critters DAX, I know you have real winter weather.. :fl

@BantyChooks :frow
How are they doing with the new coop? Are still getting more eggs?
:frow Doing pretty well. I am having some issues with keeping Jace from freezing but overall they are settling decently. Yes, I'm getting 1--2 more eggs every day---I really think they were hiding them before. Bad birds!

I found the Leghorns' stash, but there must have been another.

How have your birdies been?

I can't tell you how much I hate super glue.
Last night I came home to find my young climbing buck out again this time going over to the Boer does, and fighting through the fence with my Boer buck. He slit his ear 3/4 of an inch or so and had blood everywhere.
The vet said to take a tounge depresser/popsicle stick and super glue a piecee on top and bottom of the tear. Bit the time the stick wears off it will have grown together or healed without ripping more.
Here is the hate. Try holding onto a ten month old buck while trying to get the rear together correctly and the sticks neatly top and bottom over it.
I had it all over my hands :sick

I was talking about Kajira's goats. She lost three in southern Texas with the 80 degrees down to 30 snow and rain. They were dead in their shelters in the morning. She said it looked like they fell asleep there. I don't know about her shelters.
