EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Thanks everyone. Don't know why I didn't think of it, guess I'm not as smart as I thought I was Lol! I've hatched multiple breeds and single coops so it was no big deal, know what they look like not hard to figure out who is who.
Heard of counting your chickens before they hatch? Now I'm counting my eggs before they're laid...Lol! The darn girls better get laying soon! Worst egg laying I've ever seen and my giant's usually lay all winter, have some young stock, usually have eggs, getting some sometimes from the naked necks.

Good Morning all, quiet in here today.

The lady I gave the little chick to called me last night and asked me where the rest of the chicks were (after I already told her that it was the only chick that survived that broody hatch). She then told me that it had developed a big lump on it's chest. I know for sure it was not there when I gave it to her, no ideas. She said it is acting fine otherwise. I suggested maybe it's the crop, but she didn't say anything. I offered to come get the little chick, but she wanted to keep it anyway. It was a strange phone call!

Hope you all have a great day!

I have heard that one about the lump on the chest...Usually it is a full crop!

Getting a free rabbit hutch....will be converting to a new grow out pen for chicks! Does this mean I don't have to wait until the classroom hatch to hatch???
Would be a shame not to break it in before the classroom hatch I think.
