At least you can't see it! We lived in NJ for a little while (IBM transfer). They flew DW & I into Newark, where we rented a car & headed north. Before we were even off the airport grounds, she asked what that green tint in the air was. I had to tell her that was the air! In fairness to the rest of the state, the air quality away from the big cities was a whole lot better, 'specially on top of our mountain. Never understood why NJ's called the 'Garden State'. Don't gardens need fertilizer? What's natural fertilizer made of? Did I just answer my own question?View attachment 1432088 It is so humid here- you can feel the air

The latest birds. Chicks were part of a 100% hatch. The quail is a lone chick that survived some rather careless incubation practises, involving pipping in 28% humidity.I have more chicks hatching Friday, then I am done for the year.
ETA: well, kind of done. I have one more batch that someone asked me to hatch for them.
Never.I'm still on here near daily; I just don't have much to say.
I had another broody hatch a couple of chicks. She's an old hatchery barred rock, the oldest hen I have.
9 hatched out around 4-5 am (father's day) this morning, a bunch more pecking and chipping away. Zero water batch again.![]()
Another 100% hatch.
