Seems like it rains everyday here now, even when it's not in the forecast, been in the 90's supposed to cool off now, thankfully!

Not been up to a lot the last few days; been fighting a bad back. Feels about halfway decent this morning; actually got out of bed in under 5 minutes.
I was about to ask if you could see heat waves shimmering at ground level over there. I've been in some of Ohio's summer weather; it can be brutal in some of that wide-open crop land where all the trees have been removed from entire sections. IN & IL are even worse, but at least the humidity doesn't match the temperature often, as I recall.

So you haven't been fishing? I probably should get to the lake and bail out the boat. It has a cover that really needs replacing, so some water gets in.

I stretched some line about 10 days ago, for about the 4th time since ice-out.Went to the local pond, which had been 95% open the day before, and it was bank-to-bank scum. It would have been better fishing in my yard. The heat just sucks it right up of the bottom. Went down the road a few miles to another pond, but it's choked with some kind of small pads; like lily pads, but the leaves aren't near as large. Finally found open water at a lake about 10 miles further out. Managed a Crappie & a Channel Cat, both juveniles, in a couple hours.

Yeah, I need a break once in a while. I have several projects going simultaneously & can't get any of them done with a fishing rod in one hand. Besides, it's getting too danged hot during the day; I'd have to be on the bank before the chickens got up.

What projects you have going? Just trying to keep up on grass cutting has been a battle for now.
