EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Thank you so much, I am gonna order a hydrometer and see if that'll help... I have a forced air incubator and it's a cheap Chinese version, like $60 and holds 48 eggs.... I've never tried doing that many at once, as I've only got 5 hems and one rooster,
Have no fear, we will help you reach your goal of 48 eggs! Aaaaand maybe a cabinet incubator too. :D

Humidity of course changes as the water evaporates, the temperature changes, and the relative humidity changes. If you are opening the incubator, or it’s not closed properly, that is an issue as well.
Humidity is about surface, not volume. Three inches of water deep is less humidity than three inches wide.
:caf I’m thinking (ouch!!). That is all I have tonight. Of course, my late fiancé always said of StoneMountain, “you go to school in a snowsuit, and come home in a swimsuit!” :D If it’s that bad, you might want to have a humidifier in the room.

Say what, I used to live near Stone Mountian GA, snow was unheard of. One January my Father couldn't play golf, other than that they had the second tee times all year long.

CHAOS is going to KID today :wee

Just pray she waits till I get off work. She has a disease so her teats are taped, and I need to get colostrum to the kids (She had three boys last year. I sm hoping to get a split this year.) .This is fancy AI breeding to a son of Kismet Marvin's Smooth Operator. I am soooooooo excited.

I actually finally found some semen from Kismet Marvin's Smooth Operator himself to use this fall. He has at least 59 permanent Champions to his name. He's been dead for almost twenty years so semen is getting very rare. It also sells for near $150 straw. I finally found an older couple that are actually in an assisted-care now that owned him. They had ten strawts still in storage so I bought a few. it makes me both excited and sort of nauseous to think about using some of them this fall.
Okay, enough goat stuff.
