I really do think of you often. I just don’t bug you about it.

:hugs :hugs :hugs
I’m mostly at granny’s. I’ve got mutt ducks in lockdown in a light-o-bator. I used hay and feathers to make it like a real nest.

:lau I don’t actually know what instagram is. Is that what someone showed me the other day?
I just got my first quail a few days ago. Soooo cute!

I don’t know what someone showed you the other day. I like it because people can see short vids without having an account, and it’s wat faster than uploading to YouTube (for me).

I want more quail!

Have you red the Silmarillion?
No I have not. I guess it is good?
A Tolkien event I remember is when my son and I were caught in a blizzard while trout fishing on opening day (which is March 1 every year). It closed the interstate for a couple days. We couldn't leave our camp, get to a road or even get to the trout stream for 3 days.
Besides him doing his homework, we read The Hobbit to each other and played in the snow. Nice, extremely cold, bonding event.

A funny side note to that event is that it was the same weekend as the cub scouts pinewood derby car race. We started putting his car together before we went fishing and couldn't get home in time to finish it. Our plan was to make it a 1962 Cadillac Fleetwood. It was already boxy shaped. We had just sketched the outlines of the car on the block of wood to be carved and painted when we left on the fishing trip.
Anyway, all we had was the oblong piece of wood with axles and wheels. While we were snowed in, one of his friends' mother came to our house to get his partially finished car. She entered the car in our absence and it took second place.
There were all these other finely built, fancy and highly polished cars that we beat with a block of wood - in absentia.

Why are duck and goose eggs always so dirty? I guess because they are waterfowl.
I finished incubating a taken down nest of Canada Goose eggs in my homemade cabinet. What a mess. Between the dirty eggs and all the down clogging my fans, I regretted it.
