I need better pics.

(above picture is not my hen, but this is what she looked like)

My hen looked like this yesterday, so I checked for an egg, and sure enough, she had an egg, so I waited several hours and she passed it on her own, but looked even worse after, so I checked again and this time she had a shell-less egg. By 9 PM she was so bad that she couldn't walk, and could barely stand, so I brought her in and discovered she was trying to prolapse and i could see just a little bit of the egg. Gave fluids and calcium, but she was getting worse by the minute, so I decided to get the egg out. By the time I was done she could no longer stand or even hold her head up, and she was open mouth breathing. Poop this morning is yellow w/little bits of green and urates, so, going to treat with Baytril, fluids, and Meloxicam and hope she pulls through. :fl

The peas haven't been laying for two months, so she hasn't been getting any lay pellets, though she does have access to oyster shell.

Poor girl :fl   i hope she pulls through, i know she has the best care :hugs

Thanks. Thought for sure she was gonna die, but she's still alive and looking a little better.
