How do you get the cool pattern?

It called Damascus steel, it is a combination of 2 kind of steel beeing forge weld and folded many times.
Google "Damascus knives" and you Will see art!
Unfortunately to make Damascus billet you need a forge that I don't have so
I buy the rectangular Damascus billets from eBay and I cut it, heat treat it sharpen it and more until I get the knife.

I used the weed whacker last week, but it was finally necessary to mow. I was almost out of gas, so stayed close to the garage. Unfortunately, I was down by the quail pen when I ran out. I was pushing the riding mower uphill, and slipped. The mower rolled backwards. I was (un)fortunately able to pop up before it knocked me out, and/or rolled over me.
Now I’m worried about @daxigait!!!
She needs to pop in more, just to say hello!

Well, I finally got the incubator stable and got the eggs in. Got the eggs in about an hour after I got home from work. I was pretty tired. Still am, but I don't go back in until 11 am.

I opened the first quail egg today, but forgot to check for fertility. Duckling’s insistence that I incubate the eggs is getting to me though.
