Chicken roasting on an open fire

Baking cookies for Santa, a freshly cut Christmas tree and a crackling fire are some of the wonderful smells of Christmas. Add the smell of fried chicken to that list.
KFC is bringing back its yule log for the second year that smells like fried chicken — but without the chicken. For $18.99 exclusively through Walmart, the KFC 11 Herbs & Spices Firelog from Enviro-Log can warm your house and your senses.

One website reported that the limited-edition logs sold out in hours last Thursday, but we found them available later on Walmart’s website with two-day delivery.

The chicken-scented logs may encourage you to buy a bucket of Colonel Sanders’ fried chicken and eat it on the couch while watching the KFC log burn in the fireplace. As KFC says, “Order one today, and you’ll be wondering how you were ever able to enjoy a fire that didn’t smell like fried chicken.”

The firelog is made from 100% recycled wax cardboard and burns up to three hours. It should be stored in a dry place away from children and pets. KFC warns that it may attract bears or hungry neighbors, and you shouldn’t put your face directly near the fire to smell the fried chicken. Come to a restaurant for that, it says.

“We hope you’ll cuddle up with your family or friends with a bucket of our world-famous fried chicken and a warm fried chicken-scented fire this holiday season,” said Andrea Zahumensky, KFC’s chief marketing officer for the U.S., in a press release.

KFC has gone off the beaten path before in pushing its fried chicken smell. In 2016 it sold a sunscreen called “Extra Crispy” that smelled like fried chicken. It sold out in two hours.

Fried chicken isn’t synonymous with Christmas in the U.S. — yet, as KFC is shooting for — but in Japan it is. An estimated 3.6 million Japanese families eat KFC during the Christmas season, the BBC reported in 2016.

KFC started a national marketing campaign in Japan around a Christmas dinner of fried chicken in 1974 after a store manager overheard foreigners talk about how they missed having turkey for Christmas. He promoted a bucket of fried chicken instead and called it the Party Barrel, and it took off.

Some reviewers aren’t thrilled with the herbs and spices yule log. Many on the Walmart website like it, with one hoping they make a biscuit scent next. Another reviewer recommends burning only one log because the fragrance is fairly strong, adding, “I think this would be a really great white elephant gift for this season if you have no idea what to get that special someone.”

If you’re getting a yule log that smells like fried chicken for that special someone in your life, maybe it’s time to reconsider your relationship, or at least your gift-giving ideas.

Lol MC!

Sweets! I would give u mine if u were close!

Benny's knives and sheaths are anazing!

Peter have you whipped up any cool pens lately?

I have started to felt a few soaps last week, I had finished all soaping for 2019, except making baskets and packing orders, so I wanted to do something for me... so I tried needle felting. I enjoy needlefelting it's so cool to do. I made 14 so far and they all sold as soon as I finished them! these are a few! Love washing with them, merino wool is amazingly soft yet exfoliates too! Wish I could find a good source that is cheaper, its horrible expensive died rovings

Hmm... road trip? Those are beautiful.
In your cooler, how wide is the vent at the bottom? I couldn't find a measurement. I have the fans installed so far, that's it. I decided to try plexiglass instead of wood for the barriers by the lights and the bottom shelf since it has a similar r-value and the risk of moulding is lessened. I'll be using modified C&C cubes for the shelves. I can fit a turner in one rack and use my cardboard shelf turners for the rest.
