EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

What day were they on?

Probably they'll be OK. While you want the internal egg temp to be at 99.5F, periodical cooling for up to a half hour shouldn't hurt. Internal embryo temp will lag way behind ambient temperature. Just stay away from too hot. Over 104 for any length of time, especially in the early stages is a death sentence.
Yesterday was day 5. I'm pretty sure at this point my thermostat is going out. The only thing keeping them up to temp is the cat that decided to sleep on it this morning. If I can keep the temp up just a little longer I can get a new incubator. Assuming it doesn't take forever for GFQ to ship. I'll probably get a new thermostat while I'm at it so I can use this one as a Hatcher.
