I found a contact who does nice marans, Dennis from PA thread and fairly local. so in spring I maybe can hatch a batch, broody hen them or buy chick's. as much as I love incubating and protecting the chicks, broody hen sure makes it easy. Not a fan of raising them, just incubating

Did a batch of local Easter Eggers with my students, then a batch of eggs from Meyer hatchery (Legbar, Orpington & Easter Eggers) with DS. It was so much fun & the kids loved it!

No I’ve got other issues taking center stage unfortunately.
On top of that feed cost have begun to be an issue also. The last 2 times in the pellets I usually get have been back ordered.
