Down here, we use flea/tick/heartworm prevention orally on the dogs. I deworm my cats every 3-4 months or so because they eat a lot of mice. 

So you need to demice them!

I think I have mild OCD too- stuff like the glasses go in the dishwasher go in the same way each time.
