I see they decided to brave the cold? No food in the coops, I gather? The water heater kept the trough ice-free at -17 C in the morning; and does not noticeably heat it up when the temps are closer to zero. Good stuff.

They can't be tempted with grain, but with fodder peas, oh yes.I see they decided to brave the cold? No food in the coops, I gather?![]()
We are getting snow, snow and more snow. We are on a level three so at least the bus will not be going down the road tomorrow.I put windbreaks on the cages, extra straw, extra food (for calories to stay warm). Everybun seems to be doing well so far. We're only getting the nasty cold here (-30c plus windchill) thankfully.
Hope everyone stays bundled up and warm and safe! <3
We are getting more snow and already have almost a foot on the ground. It won't get above freezing here until February 10th is what the long range forcast is saying with more snow until then. It's a winter wonderland for sure.
Did you get all of that snow Frank? I hope not.Tell me about it:

Temperatures will be below freezing until February second here, that means kicking rubber bowls loose, flipping them upside down, jumping to break and remove the ice, the hauling warm water out - and repeat every four hours...
