@DwayneNLiz My husband just texted me and told me to get more pallets, and chicken wire.... lol He said he's not sure what the pallets will be used for, but we can find a use for them soon! LOL
I wonder if instead of buying 2x4's and 4x4s, if we can just cut down the mesquite tree branches to make a small turkey pen until they are safe to free-range and have bigger housing? So many ideas, not enough hours in the afternoon.
when each one of them are handed apple ipads to do all their school work on it isn't surprising. They don't even teach cursive anymore. While our older two, one graduating this yr and 8th grader have always been straight A high honor role I sometimes wonder if they have lowered the standards in school Lol! I'm appalled sometimes at the spelling of our DD#2 spelling. I don't ever comment on her silly teenager posts on Facebook except to correct her spelling, she hates that Lol! Surprised she hasn't unfriended me yet :-D
Her spelling is ridiculously atrocious sometimes. I might not be the best speller but I know when a word just doesn't look right and fix it. I kill on wheel of fortune. If they would let the viewers see the board for as long as those playing I could beat them al the time mostly. DW gets mad when I tell her something she wrote is spelled wrong, 'then how do you spell it?' IDK, look it up, just know that's not right. Lol!

Here's a clip of the news for the fire in Tahoe area. Looks like they have made some headway as the evacuation orders have been lifted.
Highway 89 is closed from Fallen Leaf Road to north of the Vikingsholm near Emerald Bay. The California Highway Patrol estimates the road closure could remain in effect for 24 to 48 hours, as of 10 a.m. Friday.
A voluntary evacuation order had been issued for about 500 homes near Emerald Bay, but that has since been lifted.
An evacuation center has been set up at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Center at 1180 Rufus Allen Boulevard.
Winds in the area are remaining strong, with gusts reaching about 50 mph. However, winds are expected to pick up throughout the day, according to the KCRA Weather Team.
Some light rain has already begun to fall around the fire area, but the bulk of the heavy showers are expected to kick in by about 10 a.m. and last through 7 p.m.

I prefer nice weather but gotta do what ya gotta do. Been salmon fishing in the river with holes in my chest waders while it was snowing. Been ice fishing so cold beer turns to a slushie.
I get the slushie thing. One trout season opening weekend, my son and I got snowed in and couldn't even leave camp. I-44 was closed. So rather than fish, we hunkered in our van and we read Lord of the Rings to each other and he worked on his homework. I had a coffee pot and the half & half at the foot of the bed turned to ice. My fingers always turn to stone in that weather and they won't bend enough to tie a knot tying on lures.
I bet I know the salmon river you're talking about, too. Can't call the name of it; I know it starts with a "P". Polaski? Never been there myself, but my son has, a couple times.
It may have to fall off my bucket list but one of my dreams ever since I heard the stories was to go fishing in the Kamchatka Peninsula. Supposedly back before there was freer movement by foreigners, every cast was a world class fish with world records possible every day. Arctic char, grayling, salmon, trout, etc., mostly on streamers and dry flies. Its location means insects are emerging most of the year making the fish well fed. You need really big nets. In the last 20 years or so, lots of outfitters have started up trips there, complete with armed guard. http://flyfishingheaven.com/freshwater/fly-fishing-russia/fly-fishing-kamchatka/http://www.thebestofkamchatka.com/yourfishing.htmlhttp://www.kamchatkapeninsula.com/fishing.html Looks like the fish Little Lake Phil catches. Check out the variety of fish at the end of this video. Now I have a fishing bug.
