@kajira

1) common sense - not so common

2) many go to college on student loans which they plan on never paying back

3) I saved up to buy my last car with cash. I was very proud of that. Everyone I knew laughed at me.?.?

I work with many that went to college and got degrees. We get paid the same...
Nothing against college, just IMHO people should know what they're getting into, and if it's worth it before committing.

i always buy my cars with cash. But I also don't buy brand new cars, either because the minute you drive it off the lot, it's worth half of what you paid for it.

Same here. Hard to find good cheap vehicles now days though. Between the engine light inspection BS, Obama's cash for clunkers program awhile back, and scrap metal being at record highs awhile back, many great vehicles left the marketplace forcing prices higher for what was left.

I got my first car for 800 bucks. My grandpa fixed it up and its still running. This was back in 2003/2004. It was a 1992.

I paid less then 5000 for my 2007 dodge durango a couple years ago, and it runs great. We are in the market for a second truck - but my husband can fix cars too, so he's fine with a truck that has everything he wants.. our suburban would cost more to fix at this point, then buying a new truck would.

:(

My husband is a car sales man and when they get the hot deals on decent used cars it's a race with the salesman. They don't stay on the lot very long. I was lucky that my husband was able to pull one for me... But he took a lot of punches over it.

I think seniors should be required to do a course on the credit bureaus and fico score. That will scare them silly. I talk to my boys about it all the time.

We were lucky the first time we were going to buy our house the mortgage company person I sat down with explained how bad my credit was (all old bills), and how much we would save if we waited got our credit good. Five yrs later the house was for sale again and my credit score was almost 200 points higher.

This hen also had neorologocal issues and was showing the classical Marek's split.

Necropsy positive for neurological Marek's, and the pathologist thinks ocular as well. Note the thickening and discoloration of the nerve on
the right.
