EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

You dont neeeeeeeeeddddd to check for pips LOL just if they are stuck zipping!! then you can help them if longer than an hour!

What day is this? candle day 22 if you wish and have no externals!!! if you see life in one close it back up and wait.
my silkies hatched day 19/ I'm on day 20 i'll have to take them out tomorrow or saturday to get them access to food and water.

My earliest hatchling was born yesterday.

I was not prepared for them to come on day 19 - but my son screwed up the heat in my incubator and nearly nuked this batch. It got up to 104+ for a few hours. I'm lucky they even lived.

We've been practicing letting them out of their pen to wander the grounds. They've gotten really good at running at me if they hear my voice, then following me around looking for the stuff I don't want them to eat. BUT I think we're close to me being able to lead them around the grounds to knock down brush all over. When I try to sneak off they always notice and follow me back, so I guess I need my eno and a book.

Hmmm, never seen that much blood from one pipping by it's self, but have see it when that were trod on by a chicken or duck. Good news is that they usually live.

It's still alive as of this morning. but the blood dried around the pip and it was stuck. I peeled the air cell area off, got it wet with warm water and stuck it in a cup after clearing most of it's face off of the membrane and am letting it rest and do the rest on it's own.

I may peel a little more off, later this afternoon if it's not out in the cup. I've got other little hatchlings in there bumping into all the eggs, and I didn't want them to crush this little guy.
