Good Morning everyone
Was up at 6 AM yesterday to go deer hunting in the "big woods"; 10k acres of prime hunting. Temps weren't bad, 'til the wind got up & tried to blow us of the hillside. It got downright chilly then. I saw 3 ; 2 at a distance through a big bush & the back end of the 3rd one. first two were bucks, I think, which aren't in season ATM. They'd been right on top of my buddy before they got to me.
The real excitement came after I got home. I'd put out a small pile of shelled corn & a piece of mineral block next to the feeder a while back, & wanted to see if there'd been any activity around them. I was heading down the hill from my box blind when I tripped over a vine, and down I went, hard....face first. Sustained a few scratches around the left eye, from the weeds & a screwed up right shoulder. I must've tried to brace myself before I hit. I just laid there for a minute, taking inventory of all my parts to make sure everything was still intact; it was. Even my nose is still straight, which is surprising Shoulder's still ouchy this morning, but I don't guess I broke anything.. 20 years ago it would probably never have happened; getting old is a beach! Dumb Ask!
BTW, corn's all gone, most of the salt's still there, and tracks everywhere. Coons, squirrels & birds got their share, no doubt. Got to get the trail cam set up again to see what's coming in.
Still catching up from yesterday morning; only 300+ posts to go. I'll get there, eventually. and no, I'm not addicted to this thread; not at all. I mean, after all, wouldn't any sane person roll out of a nice warm bed at 4:30 AM to get caught up with the goings-on on a thread full of chickens nuts? Sounds perfectly normal to me.
