EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Thanks! They are German New Hampshires (New Hampshires re-imported from Germany recently). They are DRASTICALLY different/better than hatchery New Hampshires, which I tried and then eliminated from my flock (except one little hen who lives with the NNs and is Snape's favorite). I got them from Eight Acres Farm. They have great body structure for a meat-type, and they taste very good. So far the pullets don't lay well, but that's not a problem as long as I get enough to hatch later (I didn't get them for eggs). Even if someone didn't want to eat them, they are lovely yard ornaments. Highly recommend them. (Per Luane at Eight Acres, she brought in some of George Jensen's GNHs to add to her line, and sure enough, great production features/structure).

Starting to fade...

I'm no NN fan, but what you have now sure makes a good looking bird. The cross should, at the least, be interesting.

Quote: Gold heads? Not sure which ones you're referring to, but have positive cockerel ID on two; one who looks just like daddy & one of the primarily white one with some red thrown in. I'm 99.44% on another white one; just haven't caught "him" crowing yet.
