Just a hunch I guess.

After spending yesterday at a friends house changing his dishwasher came home to a leaky faucet. So today I get to work on.....chickens.

Actually a brooder needs built for the new chicks. Then rake leaves and put them in coops.

Why are you putting leaves in the coop?

I was out in my blind hoping a deer would come close enough for a shot; no such luck. Saw 3, but way too far out. Saw a red fox & a tree rat, but they aren't on the menu.

Sitting here eating breakfast, sucking on a cup of hot chocolate, & trying to convince myself to go hang another half door on the shed


Just made an executive decision to clean the black powder rifle; the door can wait 'til the sun warms things up a bit

Excellent deep litter. Especially if it stays dry. Some of my coops are completely enclosed.

Good morning everyone! I hope you all remembered to fall back in the states that do it. I wish we stayed on daylight savings time.
I hate coming home to dark every day. It leaves me no time to do anything in the light. I go to work in the dark year round and that doesn't bother me, but no light ever at home does.

I am hatching also, I have 4 eggs in the incubator (EE's and chocolate orp mixes), 5 eggs with broodies (also EE's and chocolate orp mixes). They are due to hatch on Monday.

I hatched 3 eggs in the incubator (3 EEs and 1 Marans/Orp cross), the broodies hatched 1 egg (EE), and I also got 9 chicks in the mail. They are all doing great now. I have 13 chicks. Swimming in chicks. My yard is going to be a disaster. They are soooo cute though.

10 BCM 4 AC 2 CL 3 mottled Java 1 Belgian d'anver 15 serama 1favorelle 2 Icelandic hatched- 1 batch of my breeders eggs failed due to humidity fail Fuzz and Peck are laying! Waiting to see if the rest of Stans hatch just got a dozen Serama and waiting on 6 dozen more plus 5 or 6 new babies coming home with the broody from my breeder today! Oh and added Sky and Sausage to the gang!... Whew can you tell I'm bored and anxious waiting to see the dr!!!
