@BantyChooks Please forgive any voice typing oddities.
You might try telling the Rancher about my experience with goats. I got some Dairy goats and a couple of Boer. And they have done what I wanted them to do. In one year in my main pasture they have cleaned out the Blackberry Briars Ragweed Buckbrush and other nasty weeds. They don't eat a lot of grass so I rotate my cows in and let them graze. While they can be hard on brush and small trees they are great to get rid of weeds and brush I could not beat with brush hogging and sprays. I used field fence over the five wire barbed wire and I have not had any issues. They will sometimes chew on the edge of a piece of wood. Overall, I wish I had done it years ago. Right now they are a quicker turnover and more profitable than my cows. I would be glad to send a picture of the field they have been in versus the one that I don't have them yet.
