Go gently one by one and pluck in a direction that't not going to tear the skin.

It's just making the wound bleed again.... :(

If you pluck it you will disturb the blood clot! Wash it with some warm water soap, and then disinfectant with some disinfectant and then spread on it antibiotic ointment and cover it with some gauze and then cover it

What sort of disinfectant?

I've flushed it with vetericyn, put triple antibiotic ointment on it, and put the bandage on.

Quote: Paziquantel dose for tapes is 10 mg/kg

So it's:
1 / 2.2 x 10 / 77.5 = 0.06 ml per pound, which is a smidge more than this

A five pound bird would get:
5 / 2.2 x 10 / 77.5 = 0.3 ml, which is about the size of a pea.

From left to right:
Small = 0.1 ml = 1.87 mg ivermectin
Medium = 0.25 ml = 4.675 mg ivermectin
Large = 0.5 ml = 9.35 mg ivermectin

The blob next to the grain of rice is 0.025ml (.4675 mg ivermectin)

My dog just got out the door while my chooks were free ranging. She got Rocky.

He's now in my basement.... His tail is nearly gone. I don't know if he'll make it- His insides were visible.

I put a figure eight bandage around him to hold his tail up so it doesn't get worse.... What else should I be doing??

He's got spunk though, which gives me hope. He was pecking me when I put him in the carrier.

As for doggy, she'll be getting aquainted with the buisiness side of a shock collar.

on no !!! I pray he can heal quickly awwwww

i'd trim short then pluck, clean and sew good luck
Thanks
Are you comfortable stitching it up? You can use needle and thread if you've cleaned it really good and sterilize the needle and thread. You have to remove the stitches in about 5 days and put neosporin or raw honey on the wound once or twice a day.
:hide stitching gives me the willies, but I could probably find something to stitch it with if I had to....
silver sulfadiazine topical-Jesus in a Bottle!!!

had a duckling get it pretty good by a hawk and was healed in 3 days! Prescription but you can get it atwww.twincitypoultrysupplies.com/store It works on EVERYTHING!!!
Thanks

That OK, I am not familiar with the stuff you have there

When I first saw white feathers, I thought for sure it was my sweet Jazz that had been gotten.... I feel bad for being a teeny bit relieved it wasn't her. :hide

Rocky is finally calming down.... :fl
