Hi, sounds like a fun day!

Quote:
It's a really nice day here... Garden got a late start this year, because I had let it get overgrown all last year, and had to hack everything out of the beds. Still working on that, reclaiming them one by one.

If I get either turkeys or goats, this is a nice area of my yard that I might use for them.

Overall view (see how overgrown some parts are?!) On the far left are asparagus beds that need to be weeded.

Collards looking really good (Bulldog in the front, Vates in the back) - just about big enough to start harvesting leaves. I love collards, and they are so easy to grow, hot or cold weather... (The little spinach transplants are sitting there as well). Today I'm planting turnips and radishes in the center of the bed, and kohlrabi on the ends and between the collars. Peas will be at the end climbing a trellis.

Young dino kale and some garlic I planted early (some elephant garlic at the end). Kohlrabi and red russian kale to be added to this bed today.

Lemongrass that I really need to tame (this is taller than I am). I'm going to dig is ALL up, trim and harvest (leaves to dry for tea, stalks to freeze for soups, etc.). I'll keep several starters and put them in pots to regrow (but NOT ever in a garden bed again!). Beleaguered asparagus behind it.

This is a 6 year old rosemary plant that is completely out of control. I'm severely cutting it back and then planting some more herbs in this bed. I'm going to plant rosemary as a landscape plant elsewhere in the front yard with lavender - they get so big!!!

Goal is to get the plants in, clean up of the mess all around comes after that... Lots to do...

It looks lovely!

Lots to do... I've got 4 types of broccoli going right now - it does extremely well here over winter. (Hard to grow in spring - too hot.) I should really get out there and start working... - Ant Farm
Those are looking really good. That's quite a bit of work.

@MotorcycleChick
Okay, what do you do when you have been saving eggs. Realize you aren't going to set them (too old now anyway), don't want to eat them (you have plenty of fresher eggs to eat), but don't want to waste them (think 300+ willing chicken mouths). Break a few eggs (probably 20-30 dozen, maybe more, there were quite a few quail eggs involved too) Filled this 9x13 pan almost to the brim 3 times Bake height:263px;"> [/URL] Cut into squares (almost look tasty if I didn't know how careless I was being with shells, dirty eggs, etc.) Toss several squares to each run and have MANY happy chickens. Deb
I would do some very good food from that!

@ChickenCanoe Or anybody else. What is a goodd poultry catching net?

:frow Hi everyone busy, sick animals,etc. I will try to catch up soon.
