Glad you came in before frost bite set in.I give up!
The only thing dumb enough to be out in that weather is an idgit like me. Any self-respecting deer is laid up out of the wind, where they'll stay 'til it calms down. The heater can't keep up in this wind, & those windows ain't near air-tight.
Hello!
Quote: It wasn't that bad, but it's not mandatory that a deer hunter be uncomfortable when he doesn't need to be. I wasn't looking forward to skinning out a deer if I'd happened to drop one, anyway; not in a cold 30mph wind. I don't need meat that much.
they will be a bit floppy, you have electrolytes for the waterer or save a chick?
Whats going on? just a messy bum? you give them probios??
oh mannnnn what the world!!! that boy is much worse than mine ever have been!! they didnt have hot water or anything like that right? I made the dumb mistake of feeding warm oatmeal in middle of winter and it frosted them up from the warm humidity coming out of the bowl!!!
whut you know that![]()

No point in being uncomfortable if you aren't seeing anything anyways. You're getting 30 mph winds, wow!
Quote: Great! Glad they are doing well.

Officially 24, but 30's close enough for gov't work
Congrats on the chicks. Glad to hear she's doing better.Yes. I have gro gel, and sav a chick. I had to order the gro gel online because TSC didn't sell it, so I grabbed the sav a chick just in case the gro gel didn't come in time. I got the chick with the weak neck to take a good amount of that gro gel, and the next time I checked in on her she was perked right back up! All three chicks are doing beautifully!
How can they read the numbers when they're shaking so bad out in the wind?Officially 24, but 30's close enough for gov't work

lol, 24 is still pretty breezy.
Wow, I bet that was intense! Glad there was nothing serious!Sure is! DW woke me up @ 0 dark 30 (4:20) telling me we had a chimney fire....nice to wake up to. We didn't, actually, but the wind was making the stove burn so hot that she'd seen red where the pipe goes into the thimble, and could hear roaring in the chimney. I closed the damper & the door vents while she called the fire dept., just in case. When they showed up it was back to normal. I guess we hadn't burned it hot enough for long enough to keep the creosote burned off. The part that baffles me is why that much creosote was even there. We've burned nothing but aged hardwood, like 3-4 years old, & the chimney, thimble, and pipes got the best cleaning they've ever had before we built the 1st fire. Fire dept. had an infrared flotchie that detects heat. They checked the inside wall closest to the chimney & detected no heat other than what my digital alarm clock was giving off
We only got a dusting of snow, not the 2-4 inches they were calling for. Unless it's planning to snow later...Glad to hear it wasn't more serious. I've been there twice. That and Kentuck Knob (another Frank structure). Both are really neat places to visit. No snow here either I guess they don't want the kiddos to freezeWind chill puts the outside temp in the negatives.
If you ever make it out to see it, take an extra day and go white water rafting at Ohiopyle state park. I went with my parents a few times when I still lived at home and then a couple years ago, went with the patents, hubby, my brother and his gf (fiancé now). It's so much fun!really? I would love to see it sometime! Only because I had a portrait of it in my office at the Architectural firm to stare at anytime.
You had to put this up. Oreos are my absolute favorite and I HATE spiders!
