EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Our weatherman is lying to me. It is supposed to be 36 and dropping to a low of 31 tonight. The hose was already frozen at 7PM.
They're still saying it is 36 at 9:50.
My remote read thermometer in the warmest coop says it's 34 and since the hose is frozen, I can only surmise it is way lower than what they're reporting.
Ever hear of micro climates?

Weather forecasts have been so unreliable lately that if they say it's sunny; bring an umbrella :P

Yeah. Svart hona.
Have you treated her yet?

Oh. :hugs :hugs

@Sally Sunshine, your pups are adorable!

I missed your post before when skipping through. I got WAY behind over Christmas and skipped numerous pages lol. Here are a couple pics of the kids Christmas morning :)

Here's Katelyn worth her new heated blanket, new laptop, new water bottle with mio in it, and candy from the stocking. I think she had everything she could for ultimate comfort on that chair lol

Brendon, checking out his slot car track. He was having a blast with that thing. His new punching bag (in the background) got all the attention later on once it was set up. After that, he couldn't be torn from his laptop lol

The aftermath :)

Some advice on the slot cars, after a while (maybe about 6 months to a year) the cars will start to have trouble going (even if you replace their contact areas) and what the problem is is that the contacts for the track have bent in with use and no long touch properly so what you'll want to do is bend those contacts back out a little and that will help.

Thanks for the advice :) The track is actually rather old already, as in 1978... lol. We Priced new ones and they were out of our price range. This one came at a decent price with a whole box of extra track. We've really been learning a lot about it since we picked it up :)

Awwwwww. Cute puppies!

Mother did great - the bread turned out fantastic. She wants to make another loaf tomorrow, so we pulled the starter back out of the fridge tonight.

ALLLLLLL the time - it defines my yard. Even my outdoor thermometer is out of whack with other parts of the yard 50 or 100 feet away. In my case it's a combination of the building effect (being close to the house or not), and then the land slopes down and away, then back up again, so that there is a sort of diagonal shallow "valley" of sorts crossing the yard. It's where the water runs when it rains extremely hard. It is also where I will get a frost/freeze when there isn't one predicted - I have to be careful what I plant there early spring.
Those are really cute!

Over the sink?

The family seems to be on a mountain climbing disaster story jag - we watched Everest last night (the 2015 movie), then Mother got Into Thin Air from the library today (she hadn't read it yet, so I insisted), then Dad wanted to watch The Summit (about the K2 disaster) today. They already want to watch Everest - IMAX (filmed the year of the 1996 disaster on Everest) tomorrow night... So I'm joining in, and am re-reading Into Thin Air on my Kindle.

:) Ooh nice, probably more study than the one my brother got years ago. But if it is having trouble going definitely check the contact areas.
