LOVE this photo...
I've been attacking this massive brush pile with a vengeance. It's about a year old, which I am thankful for, as the wood is dried out and rotting, so it's easier to dismantle, but it really does tower up 2-3x my height. Still lots to do, and I need a new chainsaw, but I can see inside enough to know that this is a shelter if not den, likely fox. When the sun hits the yard right, you can actually see the frequently traveled path to the entrance from the fence.![]()
So I'm doing my best to dismantle and alter it as much as I can to hopefully encourage them to go somewhere else (NOT in my yard). Battery on the Jawsaw ran out again, so I'm taking a break while I swap them out. Heading back out while I still have some light... There are also two other smaller brush piles as well. Lots to do, lots to do. (I may take a serious look at hugelculture again!)

"did you see my post to you?>? which was calibrated? or are you saying at the start they WERE all the same temps? do you have the little ones sitting on the wire? also this has a fan yes?"
It does have a fan, they have went back to matching temp again, had to take mobile Guage out and flick it a bit and unstuck the needle. It seems to have worked. It's back to good.
The digital gauge built into bator says it was precalibrated and I did a test run for 2 days with a standard mercury thermometer.
