EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

The kraut I'm eating is from 2014 lol. We made it and canned it ourselves and it's delicious! Half my family was eating the same stuff from the same batch. We still have so much that I doubt we'll make more this year and still be eating this next year!

Oh, good. Not that I love kraut, but I have wanted it on occasion.

Just wanted to share. The other day, I ended up in a debate on the PA poultry Facebook page over dry hatching so i did an experiment and put a sensor under my broody, Ana to measure the humidity that was in her nest. The first time i checked, it was 100° and 28% humidity. Second day was 98° and 30% humidity, then today, i checked one last time before i removed the sensor (since she has eggs now) and took a picture of it just for conformation. I felt it was a very meaningful experiment, seeing as how the humidity was outside was so high from the rain and she still had her humidity pretty low. I definitely feel great about dry hatching now :)

FYI-outdoor is from sensor under Ana, Indoor is actualy outside conditions lol

I am no longer a guinea  lover, they are getting on the one unfrayed nerve I have left.  I have way to many.  I am trying to decide if I want eggs from them this year, or to fill a freezer with them or just try to sell them.

Anyone here need 30 Guineas?

I was considering getting 3. To help with pest control, I have lots of chickens but they just don't seem to be doing an adequate job.
Do they reproduce quickly, is that how you ended up with 30?
If we were close enough to each other, I'd of taken a few,
