EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Who needs caffeine to get an adrenaline rush in the morning. You just feed the cat and pet her, go feed the goats, and when you get back from feeding the goats. You lift the tarp that covers the barn opening to find two feet in front of you a pair of skunks eating the food the cat left. That was a wake-up. Good or bad they did not care about me at all. I talked and they only went a couple of feet back on the cat house top (big enclosed crate).

Sounds like a fun way to wake up

Are your Dom's easy to sex at hatch?

How big did you let your CX get that were used in Toad making?

They were 8 months old when they started breeding as I recall. That would mean they were full grown. For me the balancing game the first two years of them were very hard to play. I wanted them to mature, I did not want them to starve over the winter and did not want them too fat. I lost a hen to a stinking weasel that first year too.

So I am guessing the CX were 15-17 pounds or more, they did not have a frame as large as the toads (height) but they were chubby gals.

I might have a chance at some mostly grown CX, 9 weeks old and about 10lbs a piece. Would put me ahead of the game if I can get them and keep them alive.
