It's not too unusual. I only have a couple girls laying so far from last year's hatches but as the days get longer I'm sure they'll pick it up. Just out of curiosity, how's their egg color?
.Egg color's just fine; considerably darker than their mommas

I never tried cloth diapers but I think I would've hated them. With the amount of laundry kids generate already, adding more, and messier wouldn't have appealed to me. But, that's just me.
If I were in your boat, I'd erect a couple kennels (to replace the ones you confiscated for chicken housing) and put the adults in them when the weather gets consistently warm. They'll grow longer, thicker coats as next winter approaches, and get along just fine. They can whelp pups just fine out there, too; mine always did... never once had pups born indoors.pups leave next week the bigger litter and the other following
I don't even know what egg came from what hen, and fertilized by which roo, except the barred, as I have a breeding pen that we scantily built that works for now. So all of mine were seperated by egg color and location of where the egg was picked up from, just because we have a lot of different little "huts" otherwise that hens lay in, and some have their favorite! At least I can take an educated guess on who laid what based on those 2 factors! Also based on the coloring of the chick when hatched~Do what works best for you! I am tempted to try them. up til this hatch I have going currently, i haven't even labeled my eggs as to who they came from. I cant watch the bator-its nerve racking for me so unless i see them pip and zip when i do check, I never which chick came from which egg. got a suggestion-just waiting to see if their idea will work for me....

yes always have a waiting list, I have a girl from misty I didnt sell as I would like to grow her out and possibly co own her with another breeder like Mike did. But I need to discuss all that crap and find a breeder who is interested.
More surprised that she actually admitted it![]()
