Banti  What's your treatment plan?

I would start with a DE bath in the coop for them .Beyond that I am not sure. Having to kill mites and disinfect a coop this time of year vacuums.


Which reminds me how did Crissy's swim go?  Did she go in circles?

Dust 'em, I guess. Ain't much more I know how to do.... Bedding is frozen, so can't even change it..... Partially frozen, anyway.
Nope, not much room to swim in a storage tub... She just sat there and snorkeled in the water.

I agree, Ashes if you have them or DE. I am guessing it will be controlling them until spring, before you can actually get rid of them. Does Sevin kill them?

Yes, sevin kills them. I have permectrin/permethrin (never can remember which) in dust form, which always has knocked louse population way down for a month or two in the past... I don't say cured, coz it sure didn't, and I doubt much can in this wreck of a coop...

I am not taking a bath with that little poop machine.

I luvs my birdies dearly, but she ain't goin in my bath tub.
Well, I guess if I bleached it after, maybe...

I'm wary of putting her in it now, after she flapped out and possibly further injured her thigh... How she managed to get enough lift to get out of a sink with sides eye high on her I have no clue.

I'll say. One moment she was sitting in the sink, and the next free falling towards the concrete... Her wings slowed her descent, but it was still a pretty hard smack she took.

Put a life jacket on her and the two of you go swimming buddy style in the tub. Get over your aversion to duck poop. Your the one that loves the ducks now is time to embrace the poop.

Ducks and poop go together. I am sure you are hindering her healing by not truly loving every bit of her. Besides you might like taking a poop bath.
