they will do well!!

Anyone hooooooome? I'm due to ship eggs this week to a cold region. What do y'all use to keep the eggs warm? Do hot hands get too hot? What lasts longest? Obviously they don't need the warmth leaving from here...

You can't keep them warm! Unless you put some electrical heater!
Egg don't emits heat! So any insulation will keep the less heat energy AKA cold out! But it will not warm them!

I ordered some of the 72-hour heat packs so that will work, right? That will emit the heat and insulation will retain the heat?

Exactly! What temp they get to? They can start the the embrio development.

Mel, you use them for eggs?

Howdy yall. Made it back from the trip. Just shy of 2000 miles in 10 days. Twins did amazing for the ride and all the family enjoyed seeing them. Did a very sporadic read back. How's everybody doing?
Lots of us are tired and working too much ;)
I am glad your trip went well. Any new pictures of your son's?

Hiiii bestie :hugs
If I recall correctly, there's a link to 72 hr heat packs in the shipped eggs section of notes. It's at the beginning of the article,, I think?

amazon.. where else?? :lau

I just ordered some of the 72 hour heat packs from tsk supply. Hopefully they get here soon!

So maybe it's the lesser of the evils... Let them freeze or let them cook? I'll ask again when they get here. ;)
Do you have any scraps of foam? You could just essentially insulate the box. As long as they don't freeze they should be fine if you can incubate eggs from the fridge.

Destination lows are single-digit. That's the worrisome part. Anything right around freezing wouldn't be as concerning. Even grocery eggs are held 35-40 degrees.

I'm a coastal body. This freezy ice nonsense baffles me.
