One year ago today I set my very first batch of eggs.... Started this crazy way of life some call incubating. I've learned a ton and had fun over the last year, and it's all thanks to you guys..... I stink at serious thank-you's, so instead I'll just say this has been more fun than a barrel of monkeys and I appreciate y'all muchly. :hugs :love

Special thanks to Miz Sunshine, who managed to put up with the 500 zillion questions I PMed her and still not groan when I logged on. :gig :hugs

I have been corrected.

can I have them???
I like orpingtons but they just aren't predator savvy enough for me any more.

What to do what to do
I don't know the source of your consternation or dilemma but one thing you could do is buy one of the two thermometers I suggested that are ready to go right out of the box.

I would try black chicken but not what I was thinking. Thanks for the source I may have to look into it.

Let me see if I can find out who I got my orps from. I had a great hath rate and they were reasonable as far as price and really nice birds!

Great to know I can always come here to get my poultry addiction fed.

You should go "cold turkey"!

I don't think I would survive.

@Fire Ant FarmI am glad to be of service. I needed something smaller for the one run, and an old covered cat box I had found and put on a shelf in the barn(after a good cleaning seemed perfect).
Your chicks look big. I look forward to seeing how they turn out.
