I googled it, and got mixed results.
Some places say 5 is the max, others say up to 10.

I don't see 8 as a problem, as a turkey hen can retain the sperm inside her for over 2 months. SO with 8 hens as long as he paces himself they will all be fertile.

Well, scratch that idea. Long, hound-like ears hanging close to the head often cause ear problems. Air can't circulate to keep the ears dry, which can be troublesome.
