This may be chronic from the looks of it and I have seen way to many people become dependent on pain meds that cause long term problems. They don't work for me and keep me wide awake. Tylenol PM helps me sleep at night but otherwise rest heat elevation and the TENS unit work best when it starts acting up.

I usually prefer anti-inflammatories, over narcotic pain meds. My doctor was shocked, when ever my c-section, I only took pain meds for 3 days, then said "I have to walk MILES directly after a c-section due to the nicu, so hook me up with prescription grade anti-inflammatories to reduce swelling, and we'll call it good."

I over-did it, so I was on them longer than I wanted, but at least they weren't addictive and when I healed and wasn't in pain, it was easy to just stop taking them.

Motrin and ibphrophen aren't enough for me after a surgery - I have a high pain tolerance, and tend to over do it... so when I finally feel it... it's like "bring me to my knees oh god help me" type pain... and with a high metabolism... the combination requires a higher than average dose. It makes me HATE taking meds because it's hard to explain to doctors that I burn through medicine faster than your average person.

The redheaded gene (which is actually a thing,) plus autism, makes my body react in untraditional ways. (meaning, my pain response is atypical. I either don't feel much, or i OVER feel it. both extremes suck.)

Need more anesthesia during surgery. Redheads need 20 percent more anesthesia than their dark-headed counterparts. Because the MC1R gene belongs to the same family of genes that play a role in pain, the mutation causes redheads to be more sensitive to it.Aug 18, 2015

What are they doing to help you. I remember when you got the darn injury, it's been a while and you shouldn't still be suffering this much.

Came home to a new baby. One of Polly's chicks - Nn and rose combed, all fluffy and dry so likely hatched this morning (it was the egg that pipped overnight). All other eggs pipped except for one, so fluffy baby nugget has to wait. S/he's definitely more comfortable in the basket covered by the net bag than the ones that were just in the bag, who were sort of freaked out.

Still trying to get a more concrete diagnosis from my surgeon. will see him Tuesday about different treatment options and testing

My Sunshine is always looking out for me. Life has not slowed down at all but I need to find some more time to spend on here. Maybe now is a good time. LOL
