Banty I have next chicks due to lock on March second, did I tell you that when I was begging for spaggetti and choking on it?  omg everyone swears they dont know a thing about saying they would make me spagetts and then I get it and choke on it....

Did you also know that when I came home from the hospital all the chicks were hatched that day, there were two  two serama stuck zipping and I made him do the ugly deed because he didnt check my bator the entire time I was in, nor turn the eggs in the other bator, this hatch is gonna hatch just fun I can see already

Ughhh that stinks, all of it :hugs

CAN I PLEASE GET SOME HELP. I have been getting horrible hatch rates lately. Last year I never got a hatch rate above 50% and same with this year. They develop perfectly up to day 18 with a humidity of 30-40% but during hatch half of them don't even pip. Also way too often when they start to zip they can't make it out. Right now I have one stuck in its position and one that most likely died overnight. Can I please get some help I am completely desperate.

I heard about the dry hatch meat hod but around my house humidity is very low, around 15%. Is that too low or should I try it.

Couple questions. What are you hatching, what kind of incubator are you using and what day are you locking down and what are you upping the humidity to?

Sulmtaler chickens, GQF sportsman, 65% humidity. Putting the eggs in on day 19 (sulmtalers hatch on day 22) and raising the humidity the same day.

Do air cells look like they're a good size when you candle for lockdown? Sounds like you're doing everything right

Do you eggtopsy? They don't look like they have infected yolk sacks, right?

I have been having a similar issue with my seramas. @ChickenCanoe was nice enough to share this article with me so I am looking at all possibilities.

Are you sure the quitter issue is with humidity?
There can be so many other things causing quitters. Numbers 6-9 in the following link will give you many more possibilities to consider.

Hopefully this will help you narrow down the possibilities.

I opened a few eggs. some were developed and dead in shell, some were malpositioned or shrink wrapped and I assisted (2 of 4 made it), some genetic defect (deformities) and no idea on a few. Trying some diet changes and raising my humidity to see if that helps.

Did I miss someone mentioning that you need to calibrate? You might also try a higher humidity.
15% is a bit low.
