Babies are off of paper towels now, and have the run of the entire big brooder. (The removal of the paper towels is always such a crisis for them). They LOVE the space and are so tiny - they were tearing up and down and up and down, in little packs. When I went in for the final check, they had put themselves to bed under the MHP better even than the other two cohorts. (There are 25 26 chicks under there - lots of room to grow...)

I'm watching Harry Potter movies tonight. I want a hippogriff.

What do you think would be involved in hatching them - anyone tried before?

@Pensmaster - guess what?! I got my roof fixed today (well, the flapping panel part). I had hired "Critter Control" because there were raccoons living in the walls of my house. They are a little pricey, but they are VERY good - they set traps, will come and deal with emptying them (and relocating the animals), resetting them, etc. for a few weeks, and they also do an evaluation to see how they're getting into the house and IMPORTANTLY, they will do repairs to block those spots up at a very reasonable cost - they are handyman-type repairs, but ones I can't do myself. Roof repair cost me $49. 9In the past, raccoons had torn a big hole in the side of my house at the attic level - they did an amazingly secure repair.)

Oh, and we've gotten 3 raccoons so far, including the main big male that I think was the one living in my house walls...
