Holy crap! Ain't seen the 'rustic' way of boiling in a 'cauldron'

I just boil with wood in a old water bath canner on a barrel stove outside. Though I did do about 20gals of sap in our house today on propane and not all the way

Was absolutely summer like here today, almost 70! Don't see any buds on the trees though, and still a few inches of hard ice/snow everywhere.

:hide Something is banging, and it's making the dog bark. I'm not sure if I'm more afraid of danger or that the dog is going to wake Duckling.

Praying it's nothing and that duckling stays asleep for you!! I am calling it a night so goodnight to all of my feather flappers will try to check back in the morning. :hugs to everyone except Ralphie the hater of all things webbed and a special good night to you Mc!! :hugs

Awe! Goodnight, Boy Wonder!

Nothing worse than 'ducklings' waking up....
Have a good night MC, ...

Except someone breaking in... or other dangerous things.
Goodnight! :frow

Not quite 'in/done ' yet, I don't worry about it, safe here, if not cur does not like strangers, fire off a couple rounds, I just use bottle rockets sometimes for predator control, scaring off.
Sleep good abi.

The head of that horse-griffin looks rather like a Silkie cross.

So cool! I've been looking at homemade brick rocket stoves online - I bet that would be a more efficient way to do that...

Quote: Spring has officially spring here - everything has started budding out and turning green, so it's more "official" (less likely to have a late freeze, though "technically" we could have another one through mid March). It was such a nice day today. I like spring - it doesn't last long here...

CAN I PLEASE GET SOME HELP. I have been getting horrible hatch rates lately. Last year I never got a hatch rate above 50% and same with this year. They develop perfectly up to day 18 with a humidity of 30-40% but during hatch half of them don't even pip. Also way too often when they start to zip they can't make it out. Right now I have one stuck in its position and one that most likely died overnight. Can I please get some help I am completely desperate.

I heard about the dry hatch meat hod but around my house humidity is very low, around 15%. Is that too low or should I try it.

Is it the same breeding stock or the eggs came fromm different parents?
