EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Not really sure, they are mixed with the rest of the flock and have been eating the same purina flock raiser. they are on the smaller side as compared to the rest of the flock but I haven't noticed any bullying issues.
I can't look right now, but I thought that sometimes there is a nutrient or two missing that causes problems at hatch.

I had the same issues with my seramas. lots of quitters. I am supplementing them for show now and plan to set the new eggs 3/20. I did put a batch in to hatch while I am in Lima for the show- to hatch 3/19-the day I come home. Disinfected half the eggs-left the others as is. also running the incubator temp at 35 humidity instead of 25-30 and temp at 100 instead of 95.5. will lockdown on 3/17 and bump humidity to 65.

also recalibrated everything....

so many variables.

@mlm MikePer a phone call, add two more bucks, that makes me 5-1 with only one dairy doe left to kid :barnie
At least they are alive, but I lost a doe, and now have no replacements.

I agree a lot of variables. I prefer to try and change one thing at a time so if something actually works I will know. I was tempted to clean the bator and start another batch (already have them collected and sitting in the turner) but I think I will hold off.

Thank you, I remember that conversation. I'm really not thinking it's a nutrition issue but  I'm not much for eggtopsies but that's probably the only way to confirm.

Last chick just hatched! 11/11, a 100% hatch. Baby is getting a chance to dry off in the incubator and then it will go to the brooder with the others. The 3 chicks that hatched yesterday have started nibbling at food and stood in my hand to eat. They aren't showing much interest in the water yet but we are working on that.

Thus concludes my first hatching! Thanks everyone for your patience when I asked questions.

Think I'll take a nap.
