Because mom can't stand duck eggs.

I cant eat them either,  need in baked goods   kids love them though

Tastes the same but just odd IMHO, like eating a turkey egg, or a bald eagle egg, probably best pickled.

James Bond always requested a Marans egg for breakfast. I am no 007 but if he can tell the difference in tast in different types of chicken eggs, I sure hope I am sophisticated enough to tell the difference between a duck and chicken egg.

I can certainly tell the difference. I use duck eggs in baking, and I can still taste it. But, I know I'll get used to it if I just keep eating them.
