EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Good morning everybody. :frow :caf   Lots of chicken "stuff" to do today. The show is this weekend and everybody needs to have beaks, feet and baths as well as some "table time". Baths wont start until tomorrow as my supplies have not arrived but I have plenty of cages to clean and sorting to do to as long as the hand holds up. Also 3 broodies are hatching as of yesterday so when I go out to feed them now I'm sure I will have some sweet little surprises!!! :love :jumpy

Morning Mel. Good luck on the shows

If you can have a broody I have decided to encourage the broody that won't take no for an answer.

I set eggs and have a bunch of Yokie eggs left over, I have not disinfected them so I can put them under a broodie. I will give her a dozen and half and see if she can hatch them. They are so small and she is so large...

So you think it's a goose egg? :fl
Ouch!
We have what appears to be a double yolk one yesterday as well. Chicken though.
I think ouch if it was a duck but considering the size difference between these guys I'm not surprised at the size IF it is a goose egg!

Seems to be. Time I have plenty of. What I don't have is the desire to try working out there w/o heat. I have a brand new propane heater & 20# of propane, but the heat would just escape through the spaces up top, between the trusses.

Yea I tried the propane heater the barn is too air conditioned for that as well. There's a wood stove and it makes a little difference but my starting temps are nothing like yours.
