Morning Mike . Happy Sunday back at ya. Icelandics?
Quote: Yeah, me, too - I keep looking at the clock and freaking out thinking, OMG, how is it that late?!" before I remember. But I'm not complaining - I was often scrambling to get just the basics done after work before it got dark, no time to make any other progress on building or projects. This plus the lengthening days mean more time to get the garden transplants all planted (looks like I won't finish that this weekend) and the chicken housing built (which is becoming a bit urgent).
My biggest NN from the original Ideal Hatchery group is Tank. The babies from crossing him and the GNH hens have almost all outgrown him (which is really saying something) - the boys are about 2.5-3 lbs at 8 weeks (girls behind by about 1/2-1 lb, as is typical for NNs). They are super sweet and personable. After I finished mowing the back (or at least all that I'm going to deal with at the moment), I went to visit them for a while. Tank has a marvelous disposition, and his offspring seem to have taken after him. One of the two largest is super friendly and adores me, and I've tentatively decided to name him Kirk; the other big one that I may keep might very well be Spock. I have a Khan in the hatch after them - fierce little fella. How big your NN get? Hi Kitties!![]()
Kirk:
Spock:
Khan (different parents - Severus Snape x Puppy):
Growth compared to daddy Tank (blue line), 8 weeks (girls are purple, boys are orange):
And Opal says "hi" back (they've both entered the phase where they want to be in the same room as I am, but they just don't want me to know about it):![]()
OK, break over, back to work...

That's what I do, or If I find something live I want to watch, hit pause, do something for a while, then watch and ff through commercials. I remember that was a big feeling point when cable first was becoming available, you'd pay for TV, but wouldn't have commercials. Surprise, they lied.
Hi Mel! What days are the shows?
Last fall, I had 20+ roosters, when I got rid of all but three, it was so quiet.
There, there, campingshaws, there, there.

Nice eggs.
Ouch. @Sally Sunshine

I'm thinking the GNH will out do the S&G. As for cardboard holding down weeds here's comparison just be sure not to slip on the cardboard it's real slick when dry. The piles of chicken stuff was from the coop that needed digging out. Nice dry dusty stuff. I will rototill this afternoon if I've got it in me.Yeah, me, too - I keep looking at the clock and freaking out thinking, OMG, how is it that late?!" before I remember.
