My hand/wrist was crushed between a door and moving stretcher 9/4. @ weeks in an MRI was done showing a complex TFCC tear. was in a splint for 6 weeks-standard protocol treatment for the injury but hand/arm started swelling and changing color which my pcp and the radiologist who read my MRI said was not consistent with a TFCC tear. Saw the ortho that specializes in it who was recommended by 4 other orthos and my ER docs. He said swelling and color change was due to the splint and immobilization, had me remove it and start OT. 2 weeks in the swelling color change and pain got worse and the therapist told me to stop until I saw the dr again. I called comp and asked for a second opinion or independent eval by another dr because the OT said this was not normal and comp denied me. The dr did an arthroscopic TFCC repair on 11/18 and I was back in OT. It has gotten worse. Pronation and supination and flexion and extension are severely limited, extensive swelling of hand and wrist and color and sensation changes not linked to any particular time or activity. Pain at its best is a 6-usually in the morning. Pain wakes me up after 4 hours when the tylenol/motrin starts to wear off and it is horribly to try to fall asleep due to pain being worse at the end of the day. Narcotics keep me awake so I do not like to take them and best relief i have is either a moist heating pad, an epsom salt bath, Tens unit or rest and elevation. My hand/arm will turn ice cold and white/blue or red and mottled and on fire. also my whole are will lock up to my neck and shoulder so I take a muscle relaxer-mostly at night to help me sleep. Thats about it....

I am thankful my Dr. spent some time with me last visit and acknowledged this is not normal and that something is wrong-even if he doesn't know what it is. He won't do the ulnar shortening osteotomy now as he fears that it will exacerbate whatever is going on. Apparently comp and disability do not like the diagnosis of not knowing what is wrong so they are sending me for an IME which is annoying since I requested one and was denied 4 months ago prior to surgery. Retaining an attorney was per the suggestion of my cousin who is chief of rhematology at one of our major hospitals & has been in practice 25+ years. I will PM you a couple pics of what it is doing if you want-maybe you have some insight as to what this might be.

Yeah Kaj, dr wont do surgery no because he acknowledges something is "wrong" but he doesn't know what it is.....

Insurance and comp didn't like that answer so now I am going for an independent medical eval by their comp dr's. I have retained lawyers now to get me the care and healing time I need. sad it had to go to this but I have done everything every dr has said and it is worse. But I am more calm inside speaking to the lawyers-they are confident I will get the care I need.

I am not going to read the last million posts, so I will just assume you all said nice glowing things about me and will thank you for the compliments.

I have a turkey egg externally pipped, the first of the year, It will not hatch, it is suppose to hatch on the 18th and I just put them in the hatcher this afternoon. I am guessing this will be a shrink wrap fatality.
My hatcher looks beautiful tonight , 5 trays of 3 dozen eggs a tray. Finally full!

So I know little about Ayami Cemani, but this local wants $900 for this pair. Doesn't one have gold leakage making it worth less? Same dude has cull chicks because toe nails are white. Don't they often turn black after meturity? I am not currently in the market for these. Just want to soak in some knowledge if I can.

As @heatherfeather7 leaves Pennsylvania, she is 3 ducks, 6 hens (I was going for 8, but her daughter is too well behaved in chicken math) and three fish richer. She also has the answer to yesterday's question. "Abi, what is that stuff on all the cars?" Her car is now discolored by road salt too!

I am richer for meeting Heather and her daughter, as well as the stuff they left with me. Including the three hermit crabs, and a hamster.

We were disappointed by the fact that it is powdery. We were unable to make a snowman. They were unable to handle the cold wind though.
I think they have seen enough snow to last them a lifetime though.

all 4 of the baby chicks survived the night. They are up and running over each other in the incubator. I'm going to feed the pig, then put her outside, then move them too the brooder with my 2 older chicks once i'm fairly certain they are stable enough to move to the heat source. I just wanted to give them a chance to recover before moving them.

I have decided to follow the @Auroradream26 method of chick hatching. Call me Jess from now on.
I put my eggs for this Thursday in the hatcher last night around 5pm. I was slower than normal in placing them in the hatcher. I always have placed them on Tuesday afternoon so far this season. When I placed them I had the one Turkey egg that had pipped...Which puts me waaaaaaaay into Jess territory. I went to look today and I have Chicks in 2 out of 5 trays. These chicks should not be here until tomorrow evening.
They are my EE's They are a day and a half early. The turkey egg has not changed.
