Shipped eggs are due at the post office tomorrow. They aren't open on the weekends anymore. I'll be stopping in to see them this afternoon.

Or at least work out a pickup on Saturday they still deliver packages on Saturday but our roads are very bumpy here so I was hoping to spare them that extra ride. They were very helpful last time and called me when the eggs arrived.

@Fire Ant Farm that is great news with your cats. Both for you and them. I hope you feel better soon.

@Pensmaster I hope the post office gets your eggs to you on time/quickly and they are in better shape than my Hona. Only 3 have hatch so far and if they haven't made it by this morning then they likely won't. I have not heard since last night when there was still one possibility.

I am very fortunate to have a post office full of chicken lovers. In fact the post office in a town 1 1/2 hrs away often calls me to see if I want to pick them up there.

Thanks! I've seen that stuff. But last night we made a lot of progress. while I was sitting in bed watching Red Green on my iPad before bed, first Brooke came up and hung out on the bed with me, including letting me scratch her head and stroke/pet her. Then, the big shocker was that Opal came up (after Brooke went off to do something else) and came right up to me, and let me pet her and scratch her head and everything. She has never let me come close to even thinking about touching her. She did that "kneading and purring" thing both on my legs and then later on my hip. I got a photo with the iPad, but it's dark. Will share later.

Loving all the hatch news - sure I missed someone. Keep the updates coming!

I woke up with some sort of GI bug. Trying to gauge if it's just something I ate or if I will need to work form home today. I have too much to do - this sucks.

On that note, I gotta go either lay down or stare at the toilet.

Pulled the hole saw out tonight. Planning to mount bulbs tonight, maybe the fan IF I can find long screws.

Oh, and I sold 9 chickens today so I have an excuse to set just a few more eggs.

Little black one is cochin and sister(brother??) to Star, my first hatchling! I liked star so much I wanted another

Brooke and Opal are doing great. Brooke wants to be near me SO bad, but is still not quite there trust-wise. She follows me, but tries to pretend like she's not. But I've been waking up at night and realizing that once I'm asleep, she comes up on the bed and sleeps between my feet, just like my previous cat did (she gets down if she gets "caught" doing it).

Opal is probably always going to be aloof (which is fine). She has already decided she owns the whole house.

I caught Brooke playing with a hair rubber band this morning, and she actually played in front of me without running away. I got it on video:

Does the age of the hens have anything to do with this? They are 7.5 months old.

could be, pullet eggs have more late DIS than hen eggs

My bloodhound is driving me CRAZY. Great pyr is in heat, but she's luckily got no interest in boys her first heat cycle, but man, oh man, is floppy dog interested in her. I finally had to throw him out of the house and ban him to the kennels because I couldn't take his pacing anymore.

All 4 of the little chicks are doing well!!! :O I cannot believe I finally got a 100% hatch/survival rate! :O not sure what I did differently this time, besides not having shipped eggs/ too small pullet eggs.

I'm loving my little itty bitty cochin. I love Star and her mom white fluff so much, I wanted a few more from them.

As of last night a few more are still trying, but we have 96 chixks. Most of them are Easter Eggers with a few Heritage Rhode Islands Reds, and three Hona.
