Yes it can be a very useful skill to know, either that or know somebody that can do it for you.The skill of welding, never tried but I'm sure if I ever learned it would be a priceless skill set to add to the kit.

Congrats, my broody of about a week has kicked 4 of the dozen I gave her so far. She seems happy with the 8 she has now so we will see how it goes.
haha! The non-goat kids are doing well. In Law's are visiting right now. Today's their last day I think.good, I meant the kiddos though
Good morningThanks to those who replied. My goose situation figured itself out. She came off the nest last night and went in the coop!
I am going to check for eggs when I get home from OT so there isn't anything for her to sit on. Hope everyone has a good day.
Broody hens hatched eggs very successfully for a few eons before incubators were invented. How well do eggs hatch under a broody hen? I'm about to have 2 coops and thought about getting some hen to do some hatching...

congrats!
i love puppy!!!!My neck still hurts from yesterday, and I almost hit my head again today (you can see it's across my walkway). I'm 5'6", and the branch has been drooping more and more, used to be above my head, so when I'm tired, I forget. It's also the reason I haven't changed the poor NNs moonscape paddock - I need to cut it before shifting the fence over. (The NNs turn everything into a moonscape, so I don't feel THAT bad - that's why they are paddocked, and I alternate the paddocks - just late this time.) Heck, I can tell Puppy's favorite spots around the whole big yard and she's just ONE chicken!!! She got into my potting bench yesterday and started playing in the potting soil...
so pretty!!
Congrats!!Good morning all. I am (finally)hatching out eggs! 9 so far. My silkie is too and she has 3 that I have seen
awesome!!! glad the goats are doing better!@DwayneNLiz @Fire Ant Farm @BantyChooks @Sally Sunshine
We had a horrible thunderstorm last night, I had to send my husband out at like 4am in the morning to rescue the two new baby goats. Mom just left them in a mud puddle, and I was worried she'd do that. So we brought them inside for the night until the rain stopped. They are happy with mom again.
The sebastapol geese and 4 ducklings.
Hubby's not going to butcher our drakes. He doesn't want to bother with them, so he suggested just shooting them :/
My broody in a dog kennel. She finally made herself a nest in the back.
Woohoo!!!
agree completely! They used to be a lot better; that's for sure.
The old Craftsman tools were The Best, and well worth every penny they cost....

is it a still air? and your humidity needs to be reducedSo. It's a bardrock egg so it's a little dark but all of my eggs look like that and one of them is a clear egg, my temp is 1105 and humidity is 60% to 65%
but you are using a cabinet, those are known to need to be higherNot me...I start around 45% and finish there on day 18....then I go up to 65-70ish
great news!! (the mower not the snakes in the house)I'd have had a heart attack on the spot! I did almost put a hand down on a rat snake that was hanging on a mortar joint between two blocks of the basement wall, though. I'm so paranoid about snakes in the house that I actually shot one inside the house last year in the basement. Came in once to find a shed skin in the Venetian blinds...'bout 6' long. DW don't know about that one.
I got lucky this year with the mower, so far. I'd pulled the battery last year & set it in the basement, on the charger, where it stayed 'til yesterday. I'd also run both tanks dry, so I had no gas-turned-to-shellac in the carbs to contend with.
I re-installed the battery yesterday, poured <a cup of gas in each tank, & hit the switch. I cranked a while 'til the fuel lines were full, and fired up. No problem; didn't even get hung up & have to pull it out.
